Backstory.

For someone who has been on the limelight before he could even tell the difference between what’s right and wrong, fame was both a blessing just as it was a curse. Known to the public as Lionel Ayala, his career started when he was scouted during one of his yearly visits in the Philippines and became the primary focus of an advertisement for one of the top chain restaurants in the country. These annual visits soon became frequent, as the bookings for commercials soon turned into bookings for roles in popular television shows aired during the afternoon.Seeing his flair for acting, his parents soon enrolled him in acting workshops to further improve his craft, enabling the young actor to start booking shows aired during the primetime as well as movies he topbilled in, skyrocketing him into fame and recognition as a household name. However, it wasn’t until he was casted in a partnership between one of the top entertainment companies in Korea and the top television networks in the country that he achieved international acclaim. He starred in several boys’ love (BL) series, roles that he was praised for his acting prowess and versatility. At first, Ayala saw it as proof of his artistry and the caliber of his acting skills, but as fame and the distinction between real and reel became an overwhelming and surreal blur for him, the growing sense of discontent bubbled within him.The thing that he loved doing the most soon became something that he resented, pushing him to leave it all behind as soon as his contracts with networks and brands ended. The actor who was poised to be the next Rico Yan soon disappeared without a warning and without saying good bye to his devoted fans. At present, Godfrey Liang is living a peaceful life as a medical student—juggling his newfound love for gaming with his academics. Though he still responded when he is referred as Lionel Ayala by his peers, he stopped associating it to the life he once lived, but more so to the person he once was—someone who had the joie de vivre and the passion for acting.
